How we choose topics

We prioritize questions that change a real itinerary: whether a detour is worth the time, which destination fits a particular interest, whether a route works without a car, how a place suits families, and what trade-offs a traveler should understand before booking.

How we research

Practical details are checked against the most authoritative available source, such as an official tourism organization, railway or bus operator, municipality, attraction, accommodation, or event organizer. Secondary sources may help identify context, but they do not replace an official source for changing details such as schedules, fares, reservation rules or closures.

Firsthand and researched information

Some coverage draws on firsthand travel. Other guides are research-based. We do not describe a visit as firsthand unless it is documented as such, and we do not present researched information as a personal experience.

Updates and fact-checking

Editors review time-sensitive claims during substantial updates and may show a separate fact-checked date when those details have actually been verified. A page’s publication date, update date and fact-checked date mean different things. Travelers should still confirm final schedules, prices, operating days and rules with the linked official operator before departure.

If you spot an error or a material change, please use our contact page. Include the page URL, the detail that may be wrong, and an authoritative source when possible. We review useful corrections and update the guide when the evidence supports a change.
